Nine 15-foot triangular columns with kinetic abstract painting are permanently installed in the paseo of a new high rise in Bethesda. Maryland. Desire Lines anchors one end of a trail of paseos filled with public art that traverse old town Bethesda. Desire Lines visualizes the countless, layered individual trajectories of people, families, and groups moving along their idiosyncratic, individual pathways. The paseo focuses the busy urban flow into a single stream of individuals or small groups, each with a different purpose and destination. The work is the studio's second project for JBG Companies. The first was Pillar of Fire at 14th and S in NW DC. |
