"A devilishly well-planned illusion." -- The New York Times
A Handful of Keys is a trompe l'oeil (fool the eye) mural painted by the artist, the first in a planned series to enliven the streetscape and create an urban art walk. The chiildren are based on neighbrohood children, and the door and stone are also flat illusions. The work was commissioned by The Village of Great Neck Plaza, Jean Celender, Mayor, for this historic Long Island downtown, and is located on the exterior wall of the Great Neck Center for the Visual and Performing Arts on Maple Drive at Middle Neck Road.
